In 1994, for Ulysse Nardin, Ludwig Oechslin invented a GMT function with two pushers for setting local time backwards or forwards while continuing to show home time in the reference time aperture at 9 o’clock. This complication was integrated into the UN-334 calibre that equips this Marine Torpilleur Dual Time. It combines the comfort of this in-house GMT movement with a design informed by Ulysse Nardin’s tradition of marine chronometers in its fluted bezel, Roman numerals for the hours and small seconds. There is also a large date display that can be adjusted in both directions and which synchs with local time no matter which direction it is adjusted. A 44mm steel case surrounds a blue dial and is fitted on an alligator strap, also blue.
