Two bodies vibrating in close proximity will ultimately do so at the same frequency; a physical phenomenon known as resonance that is at the heart of this watch by Armin Strom. Twin sprung balances, which can be seen dial-side, are connected one to the other by a clutch spring to ensure optimal resonance between the two mechanisms. These oscillators both indicate small seconds and, because they perform their revolutions in opposite directions, form a mesmerising display on the dial. Strom's objective is to enhance the very concept of resonance, already a guarantee of heightened precision and accuracy that shows in the stop seconds function: a pusher in the caseband resets the luminous twin seconds display to zero while simultaneously resetting the balance wheels. This patented watch is the most complex ever made by Armin Strom.
