Octo Roma Naturalia x Wang Yan Cheng

The Octo Roma Naturalia proves a remarkable platform for Bulgari’s projects of an artistic nature, such as this collaboration with Wang Yen Cheng, a leading Chinese contemporary artist at the vanguard of the lyrical abstraction movement. Every one of the eight Octo Roma Naturalia x Wang Yan Cheng is visually unique and underpinned by a remarkable understanding of stones and colour. Indeed, the spaces created through skeletonisation of the movement lend themselves to inclusions of many different materials and patterns. In this instance, eight of Wang Yan Cheng’s large-format paintings were miniaturised, reproduced on black onyx plates then cut to fit the contours of the BVL 206 flying tourbillon movement. When the watch is turned over, it appears entirely black.
