Perlée secret pendant watch, rubies

Van Cleef & Arpels brings the delicate aesthetic of its Perlée collection to horological creations that include six jewelled secret watches, designed to be worn as pendants on a long chain, a fashion of seventeenth-century Europe. Pivoting the domed cover reveals the hidden dial from which to read the time. Three of these precious watches associate the Perlée collection’s bead motif with the intensity of the coloured precious stones set on their cover. Rubies meet the soft sheen of rose gold, while sapphires and emeralds reply to the brilliance of yellow gold. Three other interpretations are set with cabochons of chalcedony on white gold, pink quartz on rose gold and sodalite on yellow gold.
