Petite Heure Minute Relief Dragon

The fifth element in the 60-year cycle of the traditional Chinese calendar, the Earth Dragon is uniquely interpreted on this Petite Heure Minute, an eight-piece limited edition. The offset hours and minutes subdial in onyx leaves space for Jaquet Droz’s artisans d’art to express their talent against a backdrop of “Spiderman” jasper in shades of red and brown. Relief engraved by hand in solid 18k yellow gold, the mythological beast appears to emerge from various points on the dial, clutching an onyx bead in its claws. This remarkable engraving continues on the reverse side, where the dragon’s body is carved in gold on a plate attached to the winding rotor, also in jasper. Inside, a mechanical movement with silicon balance spring and silicon pallet fork delivers 68 hours of power reserve.
