Jaquet Droz brings a new dimension to the delights of spring with this dedicated timepiece, whose off-centre hours and minutes dial leaves the firm's artisans space in which to express their creativity. Like an artist's canvas, the hand-engraved mother-of-pearl makes a shimmering background for a graceful pair of blue tits, which are sculpted in gold then engraved and painted by hand to produce a stunningly lifelike depiction that stands out from the dial. This charming scene is made all the more lovely by delicate branches of plum trees in bloom. As a finishing touch, the flange and the lugs are set with innumerable diamonds. Turning the watch over reveals the equally remarkable sight of the automatic movement and its gold oscillating weight inlaid with mother-of-pearl, two sculpted wings and the two Jaquet Droz stars.
