Specificities:
Non-classified, Tourbillon
A maker of exceptional timepieces, Ferdinand Berthoud carries on the tradition of its eighteenth-century namesake. For this model, the brand has announced it will produce 20 of its first ever skeleton movement. These will be fitted in a round or octagonal case, according to the customer’s preference. The regulator-type display indicates hours on a disk, seen through an opening at 2 o’clock, with minutes displayed on a dial at 12 o’clock. Seconds are shown by a central hand. A fusee-and-chain mechanism delivers constant force to the tourbillon. A further originality of this FB-T.FC-RS calibre is the mechanism for the 53-hour power-reserve indication. Visible on the reverse side, it comprises a cone, fitted with a feeler spindle, that moves along an arbor that is connected to the barrel. Like every Ferdinand Berthoud timepiece, this is a watch for the discerning collector.
