Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ceramic
One only need consider the complexity of the case, or the technical challenge the bracelet represents, to understand that Audemars Piguet has done something very special by machining this Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in ceramic. It marks a first in this iconic collection by the brand, made possible only after 600 hours of research and development. The ceramic bracelet alone takes 30 hours to produce, which is five times longer than for a steel bracelet. This new direction in no way takes away from the spirit of the Royal Oak. All the hallmarks imagined by its designer, Gérald Genta, are in evidence, in particular the Grande Tapisserie dial that is the backdrop for the perpetual calendar indications. Behind the scenes beats a manual-wind movement, Calibre 5134.
