Sparkling Blast

Just days after launching the Blast, a fresh interpretation of its skeleton tourbillon, Ulysse Nardin took the wraps off a high jewellery version that is a masterclass in gem-setting. Exactly 211 diamonds in 85 separate cuts for a total 13 carats encrust this aptly-named Sparkling Blast on the bezel, indexes, crown, folding clasp and inside the dial where they mirror the signature X shape and rectangular frame. For maximum impact, each stone is invisibly set so it can show off its full brilliance. Tourbillon and time display are set in motion by the UN-172 with automatic winding by microrotor: a calibre that can be admired from both front and back. Two versions are available, one in white gold with a white rubber strap and one in white gold on a blue alligator strap. Only three of each will be made.
