Aquanaut, Patek's sport-luxe collection, welcomes its first chronograph, with automatic winding and a flyback function. The movement is operated by a traditional column wheel while a vertical disk clutch eliminates the risk of bounce. Additionally, because the disk clutch is virtually friction-free, the central chronograph hand can double up as a running seconds hand. The 30-minute chrono counter reproduces the characteristic rounded octagon shape of the bezel for visual continuity, while elongated pushers sit next to the bulges that protect the screw-down crown. Legibility is heightened by lume on the applied gold numerals as well as on the broad baton hands.
