Excalibur Spider Huracán Sterrato Monobalancier

Taking its cue from the Huracán Sterrato supercar, the Excalibur Spider Huracán Sterrato MB is powered by the RD630 calibre, a horological “engine” whose design mirrors the hexagonal air intakes of Lamborghini Squadra Corse racing cars, the brand’s longstanding partner, while the symmetry of the twin barrels is a nod to the Huracán’s multi-fuel tanks. Never conforming, the brand’s watchmakers have tilted the balance wheel by 12 degrees to echo the Sterrato’s rev counter. Positioned at 12 o’clock, it aligns vertically with the date display at 6 o’clock. Viewed through the transparent case back, the semi-skeletonised movement, delivering 60 hours of power reserve, reveals the oscillating mass which reproduces the design and speed effect of a Huracán wheel rim. For the exterior, Roger Dubuis has chosen hardwearing, lightweight materials, starting with SMC Carbon for the 45mm case. The six key minute markers in black DLC titanium have been enlarged to give the bezel an even more expressive shape, based on the Sterrato’s unmistakable fender protectors. This thrilling watch is suitably dressed in an electrifying orange and audacious red livery.
