Monsieur de Chanel

For its very first in-house movement, Chanel looked not to the classicism of a simple three-hand calibre but rather a style of creativity that encompasses both form and mechanical expertise. With its instantaneous jumping hour inside a large aperture at 6 o'clock, retrograde minutes on a 240° display, small seconds and three-day power reserve, Calibre 1 is the reflection of Chanel's singular approach to masculine timepieces: precision, elegance and originality. Housed inside the Monsieur de Chanel watch is a manual-winding movement with components by Romain Gauthier. On the reverse side, a sapphire caseback offers the endlessly fascinating sight of blackened gears that make a delightful contrast with the beige gold of the case.
