French content creator and watch dealer Leonardo takes us behind the scenes of his watchmaking journey through five key images, each paired with a personal insight. Here’s what he had to say:
2. All my love is going to tiny watches full of charms, so of course I adore vintage Cartier. Both were sold and like most of watches that i sold i don’t regret them but for sure i do thinking about them sometimes. The real pleasure is to explore.
3. The whole point is to find new gems everyday, this particular Dodane pré-type XX is the perfect exemple. Like a Unicorn, something like 2 photos on internet and a few obscure mentions about it but crazy collectors (essentially Japanese) digging in silence cause the story of this watch is fascinating. I’m for the peace but I love collecting military stuff.
4. As a Vintage watch Guy, i’m obsessed by vintage steel bracelet, and my all time favorite is the oyster Rivet but this is an extremely rare steel rivet Gay Frères from the 40s fitting on vintage steel Patek that I found. I sourced it with the good help of a collector friend « The Patina Boy » (Rip) who made a really accurate guide for Gay Frères bracelet with all his networking. The key is connect with people and share.
