1858 Geosphere Annual Calendar Limited Edition

Among its new releases for 2025, Montblanc presents a Geosphere model that embraces the history and capacities of its Minerva manufacture. Proposed as two limited editions with a 42mm case in steel (100 pieces) or Lime gold (30 pieces), it displays central hours, minutes and seconds with the addition of an annual calendar that shows months on the outer edge of the dial by means of an arrow-shaped pointer, plus a large date. These functions are completed by world time, shown on a rotating three-dimensional sapphire globe which is hand-painted with a depiction of the Northern Hemisphere, with a day/night indication. Both versions are fitted with the new Minerva MB M14.58 calibre, assembled from 336 components and providing 65 hours of power reserve. The month of July has been replaced by the word Minerva, in reference to the date the Minerva name was registered, while the red arrow-tip pointer symbolises the spear carried by the Roman goddess Minerva, protector of arts and trade. Red is also the colour used for the Greenwich meridian on the rotating globe. The silvery-white grained dial recalls 1950s Minerva models and makes a contrasting backdrop for the steel version’s blued hands and indices.
