Don't be surprised never to have heard of lacemaking on gold. Piaget is showcasing a unique art that was invented, developed and secretly cultivated by artist-artisan Sara Bran. Freely inspired by needlepoint lace, the sculptures she carves from plates of precious metal just millimetres "thick" come to life after hours spent at the workbench to miraculously achieve a lace pattern that is as delicate as the finest thread. This virtuoso art has found its canvas on the lid of the Altiplano Double Jeu. Circled by marquise diamonds, it encloses the minimalist beauty of a pure white dial whose hands count the passing hours and minutes to the beat of a manual-wind, extra-thin 430P movement.
