Hublot unveils the Big Bang Integral Minute Repeater Ceramic: the world’s first ceramic-cased tourbillon minute repeater whose cathedral gongs circle the movement twice. In black or white, limited to 12 and 6 pieces respectively, it is available for purchase only in Japan. Ceramic is not the first material that springs to mind for a minute repeater, because it is notoriously difficult to machine and also for questions of sound quality. Previously used for the odd component, ceramic had never been used for the entire case, bracelet and bezel. Not, that is, until Hublot leveraged its capacity to produce and machine ceramics in every colour and shape. This new Big Bang speaks volumes about the brand’s technical ability as much as it does its groundbreaking approach to watchmaking. The Art of Fusion clearly knows no bounds.
