Tudor’s new Black Bay Ceramic reminds us that what is essential is invisible to the eye. Behind the avant-garde appearance of a 41mm case in matte black ceramic lies a black mechanical movement that is built for precision. After introducing a substantial number of developments to its in-house MT5602-1U calibre, Tudor wanted to put the result to the test of not one but two independent bodies. Mission accomplished. The movement of the Black Bay Ceramic, which is fitted with a silicon balance spring and automatic winding for 70 hours of power reserve, has obtained chronometer certification from the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), in addition to Master Chronometer certification from the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), which covers the main attributes of precision, resistance to magnetic fields, water-resistance and power reserve. These are all rigorously tested to some of the industry’s highest standards. Quality and reliability guaranteed for this dive watch, which rates 200 metres for water-resistance.
