C by Romain Gauthier Platinum

Romain Gauthier presents its latest calibre in the Heritage collection, inside a C by Romain Gauthier cased in platinum. The movement is in 18k white gold, which adds a particular refinement to this sporty model, as does the painstaking finish of the movement and external parts. The luminescent hour and minute hands sit slightly off-centre for a contemporary feel, accentuated by the varying lengths of the hour indices – a design language that continues into the markers on the small seconds display and, through its suggestion of vanishing points, lends depth and perspective. The white gold dial has been given a sanded grey PVD treatment and is framed by a platinum bezel alternating round and facetted elements. The manual-winding movement includes a stop-seconds mechanism actuated by a snail cam that stops the balance wheel when the crown, at 2 o’clock, is pulled out and, when the crown is pushed back in, imparts an impulse to set it beating again.
