Audemars Piguet begins a new chapter in its history with a collection that introduces a completely innovative set of design tropes. The brand spent a full seven years developing this Code 11.59. Its construction is far more complex than first meets the eye, with a thin round bezel above a subtly octagonal caseband. One of the 13 references on offer, the Selfwinding offers a classical interpretation of the essential indications of hours, minutes, seconds and date. Its clean aesthetic has much to offer, not least the sophistication of a blue lacquered dial. Turning the watch over reveals a wide opening onto the new 4302 automatic calibre, specially developed by Audemars Piguet.
