De Bethune’s double-sided DB Kind of Two Jumping GMT houses the brand’s thirtieth in-house calibre in celebration of its twentieth anniversary. One side, the GMT side, gives the hours, minutes and seconds by three hands; on the other side, the hour is shown around the balance wheel at 6 o’clock while minutes are tracked on the periphery. The DB Kind of Two Jumping GMT is perfectly reversible and can be worn with either side frontwards, depending on the wearer’s mood and the chosen time zone. Its highly sophisticated mechanism not only enables the hands to turn in opposing directions; it also drives jumping hands for the hours on the GMT side and for central seconds on the other side. A hand-guilloché centre underscores the classical aesthetic of the GMT side while on the other side the deltoid-shaped bridge indicates a contemporary design. De Bethune’s floating lugs lend themselves perfectly to the pivoting of the DB 29 case, which smoothly turns thanks to a small rotating mechanism.
