What is this rather peculiar object? Something out of a sci-fi movie? Or has MB&F been indulging its imagination again, in its ongoing exploration of founder Maximilian Büsser's childhood dreams? Clearly inspired by Tintin's torpedo-shaped rocket, the Destination Moon table clock is made in partnership with L'Epée 1839, Switzerland's only specialist manufacturer of high-end clocks. Like the engine that sends a real-life rocket blasting into space, the eight-day skeleton movement is revealed in an impressive vertical architecture, surmounted by hour and minute indications stamped on stainless steel cylinders. This exceptional mechanism is housed inside a four-kilogram shell that stands squarely on its four steel feet, coated with green PVD. An additional detail that is sure to fire the imagination of anyone fortunate enough to have this spacecraft land on their desk: Neil the solid-silver astronaut in his 1960s spacesuit can be positioned anywhere on the boarding ladder, thanks to embedded magnets, ready for lift-off.
