Evolution 9 Hi-Beat 36000 80 Hours
Grand Seiko presents Calibre 9SA4: its first manual-winding, high-frequency movement in 50 years and the third movement in the new generation of mechanical 9S calibres that debuted in 2020. This latest iteration beats at 10 vibrations/second and provides 80 hours of power reserve, thanks to a dual impulse escapement and twin barrels. It uses the Grand Seiko free-sprung balance paired with a balance spring with overcoil, ensuring excellent rate stability and high precision. Several aspects of the watch's design have been refined: the prominent, grooved indexes are longer and slimmer, while the multi-facetted lugs are narrower. Also, the watch’s centre of gravity has been lowered for enhanced comfort. As for the dial, its pattern looks to the slender white birch trees that grow in northern parts of Japan. The rose gold version is limited to 80 pieces, with a non-limited version in Brilliant Hard Titanium.
