Powerful currents cross the oceans that surround the Japanese archipelago. One, the Black Stream, is among the largest ocean streams anywhere in the world. It has inspired the deep black colour and textured surface of the dial on this dive watch, part of Grand Seiko’s Evolution 9 collection. Water-resistant to 200 metres, its movement is the Spring Drive 9RA5 that is accurate to ±10 seconds/month and delivers five days of power reserve. The insert of the rotating bezel is in ceramic to protect against scratching.
