Astronomical Indications, Tourbillon
With this COSC-certified chronometer, which brings together an in-house, fusee-chain tourbillon movement with a truly novel display of the age and phases of the moon, Ferdinand Berthoud again shows itself worthy of the master watchmaker's name as it carries on his quest for chronometric precision. Manufactured as a ten-piece limited edition, the standout feature has to be the display at 6 o'clock, showing the age and phases of the moon by a hand moving back and forth with astronomical precision: a discrepancy of a single day after 577 years of continuous operation. A second innovation lies with the suspended fusee-chain construction that supplies constant force to the escapement throughout the 53 hours of power reserve. Not forgetting the tourbillon with central seconds, visible on the back of the sandblasted white gold case whose octagonal lines are accentuated by elements in ceramised titanium.
