Grande Seconde Moon
Adding a new complication to the iconic Grande Seconde was not without risk: that of undermining the purity of a watch whose elegance is rooted in the essential simplicity of its design. Instead, the moon phase display sits naturally, as though it had always belonged there, in the famous figure-of-eight formed by the overlapping of the hours and minutes dial with the off-centre and larger seconds subdial. The moon inside this symbol of harmony is an "astronomical" moon phase, which requires correction just once after 122 years and 46 days. Such refinement is accentuated by the warm sheen of pink gold which beautifully contrasts with the Grand Feu ivory enamel of the dial, a signature of Jaquet Droz. Contained inside an elegant 43-mm case, this poetic interpretation of the lunar calendar is driven by an automatic movement that offers a comfortable 68 hours of power reserve.
