Since 2009, Histoire de Tourbillon has given shape to Harry Winston's desire to present the "king of complications" in a completely new light each time. True to form, this latest interpretation presents a tri-axial tourbillon in association with a retrograde hours and minutes display. Positioned at 6 o'clock and surrounded by a well of light measuring 20.5mm in diameter, the tourbillon's three cages complete their rotations on different axes and at different speeds - one in 300 seconds, the second in 75 seconds and the third in 45 seconds – so that the balance is constantly changing position. This mechanical ballet drives a retrograde jumping hour hand that sweeps an arc at 11 o'clock, and a retrograde minute hand at 1 o'clock. There is also a power-reserve indicator at 8 o'clock. The movement is fully integrated (as opposed to a module affixed to a base calibre) and was developed specifically for this Histoire de Tourbillon 9, a limited edition of 10 pieces in white gold and 10 pieces in pink gold.
