All eyes were on Chanel when, in the year 2000, the brand unveiled the first ever watch to be made entirely from ceramic. The now iconic J12 was designed to appeal to both men and women, thanks to its 38mm diameter, and to shrug off the marks of time. Originally all in black, a second, all-white version followed in 2003 which opened the door to multiple interpretations. This year Chanel is proposing a set of 12 one-off designs in ceramic marquetry. The abstract pattern on the dial, inspired by the numbers 1 to 12, was designed by Chanel's Creative Studio. Joining them are two limited editions of 1,200 pieces each, featuring a black and white interpretation of the number 12. White gold wires separate the different nuances of colour on the bezel and dial.
