The name and a slimmer, 38mm case confirm that Armin Strom conceived this as a watch for women but also a technical timepiece that gives prominence to the three bridges: a sign of the pocket-watch inspiration for the ALA20 calibre. While the origins of the Lady Beat lie with the Gravity Equal Force and the movement is, as always at Armin Strom, a central element, it has been reconfigured to give the watch its lightness and wearability. There are no numerals on the off-centre dial, simply a logo at 12 o’clock, and no seconds hand. Next to it, the barrel and the constantly beating balance are a deliberate and visible reminder of the watch’s living, breathing mechanism.
