Chopard's already abundant family of movements acquires an important new member in 2019 with the arrival of the Manufacture's first flying tourbillon calibre. While the performance of this automatic mechanism is attested by COSC certification and the Poinçon de Genève seal of quality, Chopard has, as always, paid equal attention to elegance and refinement. Surrounded by an ultra-thin, 40mm case in ethically sourced Fairmined pink gold, the solid gold dial makes a striking contrast thanks to its ruthenium-treated grey surface. A central medallion is hand-decorated with a guilloché honeycomb pattern symbolising a beehive in an allusion to the first logo used by Louis-Ulysse Chopard. The evident thought that has gone into the aesthetic details of the exterior is repeated on the movement, whose engraved gold micro-rotor can be seen through the sapphire caseback.
