LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie
Following its announcement of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives, the brand is embarking on a five-year programme of collaborations with independent watchmakers. For the inaugural edition, Rexhep Rexhepi, who since 2012 has been at the head of his Atelier Akrivia, developed the exclusive movement powering the LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie. This double-faced monopusher chronograph with a chiming complication incorporates a five-minute tourbillon. Hours and minutes are displayed on the front side, on a smoked sapphire crystal dial that reveals the mechanism below, as well as the hammer and gong for the chiming mechanism around the tourbillon. On the reverse side, central hands sweep scales for the chronograph seconds and minutes on a Grand Feu enamel dial. The chiming mechanism is synchronised with the chronograph and strikes for each elapsed minute. Mounted on a natural brown leather strap, the 39.9mm platinum case is a reinterpretation of the Tambour shape. Each of the ten watches in this limited edition is delivered in a presentation box in the form of a Louis Vuitton trunk, with a hand-painted decoration.
