Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948
For 2022 Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948, the first association of a world-time complication with a flying tourbillon which travels once around the dial every 24 hours; the length of a mean solar day. What’s more, the watch is embellished by the artisans of the Manufacture’s Métiers Rares® atelier. For example, the continents for the map of the world as seen from the North Pole are cut from a sheet of white gold then decorated with champlevé enamel. Beneath this map, a disc of blue translucent lacquer over a guilloché pattern represents the oceans. This Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948 is remarkably simple to read - the hour in a given time zone is marked on the ring adjacent to the city representing that zone – and to operate: the time is set with the crown, which synchronises all of the time zones.
