Laurence Graff, founder of Graff Diamonds, is one of the world's foremost modern art collectors; one of the reasons why Graff Luxury Watches developed this new collection of men's watches focused on the applied arts. Three models were shown at Baselworld 2018, each with an ultra-flat tourbillon and showcasing a traditional decorative technique. They are Dragon (champlevé enamel), Samurai Warrior (miniature painting) and Graffiti. The latter employs the rare technique of cold enamelling. First, the dial base is engraved (a technique also used in champlevé enamel) to form hollows which are filled with enamel. The piece is repeatedly fired at 180°C (as opposed to 800°C for Grand Feu enamel) to produce a smooth, glossy surface. Details are painstakingly added using miniature painting. It can take as much as forty hours to bring each dial to fruition. All three versions are proposed with a facetted bezel or a gem-set bezel.
