Melchior

Established 2005, MB&F celebrates its tenth anniversary with Melchior, the latest incarnation of the fantasies played out in the mind of founder Max Büsser, where childhood dreams of space adventure become sophisticated timepieces for adults. Melchior is both a clock and a robot, complete with rocket launcher and Gatling gun. The weapons are just for show, unlike the jumping hours, sweeping minutes and double retrograde seconds. The escapement is housed inside Melchior's "brain", and is driven by five barrels at a rate of 2.5 Hz to deliver a 40-hour power reserve. Created in collaboration with Swiss clock manufacturer L'Epée 1839, Melchior is the first of the anniversary pieces that MB&F will reveal over the course of its jubilee year.
