Themes: Technical, Design
Specificities: Chronograph, Ultra-Light, Skeleton, Sport

When the TAG Heuer Monaco launched in 1969, it made a radical departure from conventional design. Not only was its case square, it was also water-resistant: an industry first. Its crown was on the left side of that polished and brushed steel case and its dial was blue. Celebrating the collection's 55th anniversary, TAG Heuer has released the Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph. It weighs a mere 85 grams, the result of a revisited architecture and the use of light materials, with titanium and sapphire crystal both playing a central role. Powering this new watch, the TH81-00 automatic split-seconds chronograph calibre beats at a high-frequency 5 Hertz. Made entirely from titanium, in partnership with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, this is one of the lightest movements ever created by TAG Heuer. This latest addition to the Monaco stable is offered in two colourways: a dynamic and sporty red variation, inspired by motor racing, and a classic blue version in honour of the Monaco's original colour.
