Panthère

Cartier’s favourite feline returns as a sculptural jewellery watch. It closes its jaw on a black lacquer dial whose colour echoes that of the panther’s distinctive spots in lacquer, each individually polished. Nose, cheeks, eyes, pointed ears: every part of this panther is designed in three dimensions. Such an architectural approach carries on from the geometric forms and clearly defined angles of the jewellery pieces launched in 2005. The same strong lines are evident in the supple, articulated bracelet which hugs the wearer’s wrist yet has no visible hinges. Crafted in yellow gold or rose gold with black lacquer spots, or in diamond-paved white gold, this Panthère holds the gaze with its tsavorite or emerald eyes.
