For the past 14 years, Project Z has played with asymmetry and proportions to explore unconventional displays. The latest in the series, Project Z12 is a mere illusion of symmetry. Hour and minute hands are centrally mounted but don't rotate over 360°. Instead, the dial is divided into two sections; the top is reserved for the hours while the bottom shows the minutes. In displaying the time, the hands sweep 140° before returning instantaneously to their starting point... 26 times a day. This retrograde display is complemented by a date indication around the circumference of the dial. The blue bridge that straddles the dial already featured on the Project Z10 and Project Z11 watches. Its beam-like structure is a nod to Manhattan's bridges and a reminder of Harry Winston's New York heritage.
