Ceramic has been around in watchmaking since the 1980s, although Omega used it for the first time just eight years ago. In less than a decade, then, the brand has taken a giant leap in ceramic technology, as this watch shows. It combines the sporting appeal of a dive watch with a GMT function, all inside an impressive 45.50-mm case that is cut from a single block of blue ceramic. A first for this "diver", which is built to withstand pressure down to 600 metres. The orange GMT hand and oversized numerals on the dive time scale ensure all-important readability, including in the darkness that reigns underwater, while the notched ceramic bezel is easy to grip. Each of the indications can count on the reliability of the Omega Master Chronometer 8906 calibre, certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to perform in even the most extreme conditions.
