Senator Excellence

Glashütte Original has chosen the ultimate classic watch from its collections, the Senator Excellence, for the debut of the in-house Calibre 36. This three-hand movement was designed for stability, reliability and precision, not least by reducing the number of components. Silicon makes its first appearance for the balance spring, coupled with a regulator-free oscillation system; rate is adjusted by weighted screws on the balance rim. A stop-seconds mechanism completes the line-up of functions of this movement, which is adjusted and tested in six positions. A new barrel architecture delivers a 100-hour power reserve. The three-quarter plate and skeletonised rotor are typical features of Glashütte movements, with finishes to a standard that reflects the care afforded to every aspect of this watch.
