Slim d'Hermès Minuit au Faubourg
Pop art meets Paris in the Slim d'Hermès Minuit au Faubourg, created as two 24-piece limited editions. The theme for this delightfully offbeat horological miniature is borrowed from a 2014 design for a silk scarf by Dimitri Rybaltchenko. Silhouetted against a sky streaked with clouds and studded with aventurine stars, the Eiffel Tower rises above the Parisian rooftops. In the distance we can make out the dome of the Invalides, the obelisk on Place de la Concorde and the sails of the Moulin Rouge windmill. And in the foreground, on the roof of Hermès’s historic address at 24, Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Super H prepares to answer a call for help, at the sight of an “H” beamed from the top of the Eiffel Tower. The entire scene is executed by hand in micro-painting, except for the beam of light in Super-LumiNova that comes to life in the dark. The multiple layers of paint lend a subtle grainy texture to the dial, like a canvas.
