Datograph Up/Down
In 1999, just five years after its debut collection, A. Lange & Söhne presented its first chronograph movement inside the Datograph. Developed from the ground up, calibre L951.1 combined a column-wheel chronograph with a flyback function, an instantaneous jumping minute counter and the characteristic Lange outsize date. It would be the prelude to currently thirteen different models with a chronograph function. These include calibre L.951.6 with an indicator for the extended power reserve of 60 hours. Introduced as the Datograph Up/Down in 2012, A. Lange & Söhne revisits this version in 2024. Still with a column wheel, it beats at 18,000 vibrations/hour or 2.5 Hz to enable measurements accurate to one fifth of a second. As with all A. Lange & Söhne timepieces, the movement has been beautifully finished, not least the hand-engraved balance cock with a swan-neck fine adjustment for the spring. This craftsmanship is visible through the sapphire case back. A limited edition of 125 pieces to commemorate the Datograph's 25th anniversary is cased in white gold with a blue dial, with the same 41mm diameter.
