Lange 1 Moon Phase
The Lange 1 Moon Phase became part of A. Lange & Söhne's iconic range in 2002, completing the collection with this sought-after astronomical complication. It now follows the Lange 1 in accommodating a new movement with the addition of a representation of the moon combined with a day/night indicator for a particularly realistic rendering. A separate moon in solid gold progresses against a backdrop of a sky disc, also in solid gold, that rotates once in exactly 24 hours. A gradient of light to dark blue represents the different stages of day and night. During daytime hours, the sky appears in light blue without any stars. At night, laser-etched stars stand out against a dark sky. This precision moon, which requires correction by a single day after 122.6 years, thus serves as a day/night indicator when setting the time. This Lange 1 Moon Phase is proposed with a white gold case and a solid silver, black dial, or in pink gold with a solid silver, silver-toned dial, or in platinum with a solid silver, rhodium-plated dial.
