The brand with the guiding star is reviving the Cairelli, a military chronograph of which 2,500 were made back in the 1960s as a commission for the Italian army. Today's Cronometro Tipo CP-2 Flyback joins the Pilot range, already well-known for its vintage overtones. However, inside the nostalgia-tinted case in bronze or aged stainless steel ticks a very modern movement: the El Primero 405B automatic. This is Zenith's iconic calibre, beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour and precise to one-tenth of a second while offering a comfortable 50 hours of power reserve.
